COVID+ and Wholeheartedness

Cold, dark, damp

As the raindrops soak into the hungry soil,

The fear seeps into the shadow side.

I sit by the fireplace, aching for its warmth.

Absently I stare out the window, watching water bubbles form and break,

Fragile and fleeting like my thoughts…and our health.

Can I wholeheartedly embrace the positive COVID test?

The headache and stuffiness? The unaccustomed lack of energy?

I am so fortunate. My symptoms are mild. I am strong and healthy.

And who else did I expose?

A forced week of rest.

And when will I regain my strength?

Time to read and cook.

And will I be better in time to meet my commitments?

Recognizing and allowing the shadow side with curiosity and self-acceptance.

Being with what is rather than wishing for what is not.

Wholeheartedness – truth and trust; love and gratitude.

(Note: So many have offered help. Thank you. I appreciate it, and we are doing fine.)
